New Player Registration opens June 9, 2026

If you want to register for the 2026-2027 season as a new player, you need to reside within our boundary which is North and West Vancouver (and Bowen Island)

We are accepting New Player Paper work after June 1

3. 3 proofs of residence

Once received you will be sent an email with further instructions

Players who are transferring to the North Shore Female Ice Hockey Association (NSFIHA) from another association - or players wishing to join the North Shore Avalanche because a comparable program is not available in their home association for example, no female team or no A or Rep team) must follow the Player Movement process set out by PCAHA, the governing body for our Association. 

This process also applies to players who are currently on a waitlist with their home association.  

For full details, families are encouraged to see the PCAHA Rule Book which outlines all player transfer and movement regulations. 

Steps to Complete Player Transfer/Movement

To begin the process, families must complete the following steps: 

1. Complete the PCAHA Registration Form
2. Complete the PCAHA Application for Player Movement Form. 

• This form requires signatures from both parents/guardians, signed in ink
• It also requires approval and a signature from your home association registrar
• Please note that this step may take time to process

3. Providing Supporting Documentation (as required based on the player’s situation), including: 

• Three (3) proofs of residency
  • One must be a property tax bill or school registration
  • Telephone and mobile phone bills are not accpeted
  • Acceptable additional proof includes full utility bills such as:
    • BC Hydro
    • FortisBC
    • Rogers/Telus Cable
    • Medical Services Plan (MSP)
    • City or district utility bills

   4. Provide a copy of the player’s birth certificate

   5. Email all documents from Steps 1-4 as pdf to the NSFIHA registrar at registrar@northshoregirlshockey.com

   6. Await confirmation from the Registrar

• Once player movement has been approved, the Registrar will contact you
• You will then be able to complete the Avalanche registration process

What happens if a division is full?

In some cases, registration numbers may need to be capped in a division based on overall enrollment and available ice and team space. For this reason, families are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible.

If you are unable to register a player online, it may be because that division has already reached capacity. In this situation, please contact the Registrar as soon as possible to request placement on a waitlist, if one is being maintained.

When emailing the Registrar, please include:

• The player’s full name
• The division you are attempting to register for

Waitlist priority is determined by the date and time the email is received.

• Rep Tier 1$330 Supplemental Fee should a player be eligible for Tier 1 (U11 A, U13 A, U15 A, U18 A). *Full-time goalies are exempt. 

• Rep non-parent Head Coach’s and Assistant Coach’s coaching salaries and other related coaching costs should a player be eligible for a Rep Team U11A, U13 A, U15A, U18A teams) 

• Any tournaments your team enters, whether the player participates or not. 

• Any exhibition game referee fees 

• Fundraising initiatives such as Giants Night, Pub Night, or other events 

• Any additional financial assessments the NSFIHA Board declares 

• $150 Evaluation Fee if your daughter chooses to "try out" for a Rep or A level team
• $135 Evaluation Fee if your daughter chooses to "try out" for C1
• $75 Evaluation Fee if your daughter chooses to “try out” as a full-time goalie
• Player hockey skill development clinics sponsored by the Association such as those provided by Advantage Hockey.
• Premium team photo day packages
• Optional Avalanche gear available at Time Out Source for Sports such as hockey bags, hoodies, track suits, etc.

All registrations must be paid by credit card through TeamSnap.

What if I don’t have a credit card?
Please contact our registrar to make alternative arrangements.

Is there an option to pay the registration fees by instalments?

Yes. You can select to pay the full amount (default selection) OR to click on the “Instalment Plan” option. The instalment plan requires $100 deposit when you first register and then the balance paid out over 2 equal instalments payments withdrawn on the following dates: July 1, August 1. The same credit card used for the first payment will automatically be charged on the future dates.

PLEASE NOTE: NSFIHA is a not for profit association. If you are able to pay in full, that would be greatly appreciated as our Board works hard to keep the club in a good financial position. If, however, you would like to spread your registration payments out please select the multiple payment option when you register on TeamSnap.

Please note in order to register you will need a Hockey Canada ID for your daughter(s). If you already have a Hockey Canada ID but have forgotten it, the TeamSnap registration process will find it for you. If you are a new or transfer player please see info under those titles.
