Season Registration

North Shore Avalanche hockey starts in September, but online registration begins in May  for the upcoming season.

If you are a new player please see info under New Player Registration below. If transferring in from another association please see info below as Transfer player. Please contact our Registrar for any assistance at registrar@northshoregirlshockey.com.

Our Association has a rich and successful history in female hockey in BC, dating back to 1998. Our programs are popular and fill up fast, so please register as soon as you can. Remember: no experience is necessary for your daughter to join and become a hockey player. Your child will be up and skating right away and will astound you with her improvement in only a few practices. Join us and play the most exciting game in the world; play a game you can play for life!

The North Shore Avalanche will offer programs in 2024 - 2025 for all players born from 2007 - 2019:

  1. U7 Ages 5-6 : 2018-2019
  2. U9 Ages 7-8 : 2016-2017
  3. U11 Ages 9-10 (Recreational and Rep streams): 2014-2015
  4. U13 Ages 11-12 (Recreational and Rep streams): 2012-2013

  6. U18 Ages 15-17 (Recreational and Rep streams): 2007-2008-2009

Our goal is to ensure that every player has a spot on a team; however, if registration numbers are high and a division is full, players will be placed on a waitlist based on a if parents send a follow-up email request to be waitlisted to our registrar. Parents are strongly encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment, especially at the U15 and U18 levels.

Players who want to play Rep A or top tier levels for the U11-U18 Divisions can register for that at registration.

For details about fees, payment methods, payment options and the refund policy, please see information posted in the FAQs sections below.

After reviewing the information above and below, should you have any more questions about registration or the online process, please email our registrar at registrar@northshoregirlshockey.com.

AVOID WAITLISTS AND LATE FEES: SIGN UP EARLY

A Late Fee will be charged to Returning Players after June 5th.

It may be necessary to cap registration numbers in a division, depending on how many players sign up.  We encourage all families to register early, particularly at the U15  and U18 levels. If you are unable to register a player, it could be that your division is already full; please contact the registrar ASAP and request to be placed on a waitlist (if required). Please include the player name and division in your correspondence. Waitlist priority will be given based on the email date. If you have any questions about registration or the online registration process, please email our registrar at registrar@northshoregirlshockey.com.

"Tryouts" Evaluations Registration

All U11 to U18 division players who want to be considered for placement on a Tier 1 Rep or Tier 2 House team must participate in the pre-season "tryouts" evaluation process at the start of September. Evaluations are for those seeking team placements on U18 A & C1, U15 A & A2, C1, U13 A & C1 and U11 C1 & C2.

NOTE: Evaluations and "tiered" team placements are not part of the younger U7 and U9 divisions; no evaluations are offered or required at this level and there are no additional fees.

Evaluation registration opens in May 15 and closes on August 15. Fees are payable online when you register,

  • Player Evaluation Fee: $140 for A and $125 for C1
  • Goalie Evaluation Fee (U11-U18 divisions) evaluation fee: $60

The U11-U18 tryout evaluations start in the first week of September after Labour Day and schedules will be made available in late August for those who have signed up. If U11-U18 level players do not sign up for evaluations, they will be placed on the lowest tier team for that division.
