From Oct. 4-6, 2019, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) will lead the way on the ninth year of World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend, with dozens of federations around the world taking part. The goal of this weekend is to have events from coast to coast to coast that engage female players, coaches, officials and fans – old and new. This event aims to celebrate and grow the female game, and unite Canadians through grassroots programming led by female hockey associations, minor hockey associations and communities.

Saturday
Atom C1 – Avalanche v. Tri-Cities – 9:45am to 11:00am Rink 1
Midget C2 – Avalanche v. Richmond – 11:15am to 12:30am Rink 1
Midget C1 – Avalanche v. Meadow Ridge – 12:45pm to 2:00pm Rink 1

Sunday
Peewee C1 – Avalanche v. Vancouver Angels – 11:30am – 12:45pm Rink 2
Bantam C2/C3 – Avalanche C2 v. Avalanche C3 – 12:45pm to 2:00pm Rink 3
Bantam C1 – Avalanche C1 v. Vancouver Angels – 1:00pm to 2:15pm Rink 2

Canlan IceSports is also offering free use of the upstairs room on Sat Oct 5- Sun Oct 6th! Avalanche teams can use the room for pre-game warm-up, post game cool down, parties and more.  If teams and families would also like to have food, the following will be offered:

  • Breakfast Sandwich $10.50 per person (English muffin with egg, cheese and bacon with tater tot hash browns and a white or chocolate milk) **only available before 11am
  • Chicken Fingers $9.50 per person (3 chicken fingers with plum sauce and fries and a choice of fountain pop)
  • Classic Burger $12 per person (classic burger with lettuce, tomato, and mayo and fires and a choice of fountain pop)
